What Is the Performance Tracker?

The Performance Tracker is your personal tennis journal on Tennis.University. Record every tournament you play, log individual match results, write post-match analysis, and track your competitive journey over time.

Whether you are a junior player tracking your first AITA tournaments or a parent maintaining records, the Tracker gives you a clean history of your matches โ€” including opponent AITA rankings, scores, and your own reflections on each game.

โ„น๏ธ
Available to all registered and approved tennis.university player accounts.
โž•

Adding a Tournament

Every entry starts with a tournament. Add them manually here, or import automatically from Tournament Manager (see the Import section below).

1

Open the Performance Tracker

From your Player Dashboard, click Performance Tracker.
2

Click + New Tournament

Hit the green + New Tournament button in the top-right corner.
3

Fill in tournament details

Enter:
  • Tournament Name โ€” required
  • Tournament Type โ€” TS7, CS, CS7, SS, NS, or Nationals
  • Category โ€” e.g. U14 Boys, U16 Girls, Open Men (required)
  • Venue โ€” location name
  • Court Surface โ€” clay, hard, grass, carpet, synthetic, or other
  • Start and End Date
  • Notes โ€” any general notes about the tournament
4

Save and start logging

Click Save and Add Matches. You will be taken directly to the tournament page to log your first match.
๐Ÿ’ก
To delete a tournament, open it from your tracker list and click the red Delete button in the top-right of the page. You will be asked to confirm before anything is removed.
โ„น๏ธ
For doubles tournaments, choose the right category when creating: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, or Mixed Doubles. Your partner's name is entered per match when logging results.
๐ŸŽพ

Logging Match Results

Click any tournament card in your tracker list to open the tournament detail page. You will see your match history on the left and the log form on the right.

1

Select or confirm the round

The round auto-advances after each match: R1 โ†’ R2 โ†’ R3 โ†’ QF โ†’ SF โ†’ F. Change it from the dropdown if needed.
2

Find your opponent

Type your opponent's name. Ranked players are searched live from the AITA database. Selecting one saves their rank and points alongside your match automatically.

If your opponent is not ranked, use Add as unranked opponentthat appears after you type their name.
3

Enter the score

Type the score with your games first in each set, comma-separated:
6-3, 6-4
6-4, 3-6, 7-5
7-6(3), 6-3
W/O ย ย ย (walkover win)
6-3, RET ย (opponent retired)
The win/loss result is automatically derived from the score โ€” no need to select it separately.
4

Save the match

Click Save Match. Your match appears in the history on the left and the form resets for the next match.
๐Ÿ’ก
To edit a saved match, click on it in the match history list. The form on the right will switch to edit mode. Click Update Match when done.
โ„น๏ธ
Match logging stops automatically after a loss (or retirement). Your journey through the draw is reflected in the round sequence on the left.
๐Ÿง

Match Analysis Notes

Every match form includes a detailed analysis section below the score. These notes are yours โ€” private reflections to help you improve over time. They are also included in your PDF report.

FieldWhat to write
My StrengthsWhat did you do well? Serve, forehand, movement, tactics...
My WeaknessesWhat let you down? Net errors, second serve, footwork...
Things to ImproveWhat to focus on in practice before your next match.
Opponent StrengthsWhat made them difficult? Big serve, footwork, slice...
Opponent WeaknessesWhat could be exploited next time? Backhand, wide balls...
General NotesCourt conditions, weather, energy levels, anything else.
๐Ÿ’ก
All analysis fields are optional, but even a few lines per match compounds into a valuable record over a season. Your coach will thank you.
โ„น๏ธ
For imported tournaments, the score, round, and opponent fields are locked (marked ๐Ÿ”’ imported). You can still add all analysis notes freely.
โฌ†๏ธ

Importing from Tournament Manager

If you played in a tournament that used tennis.university's Tournament Manager, your results can be imported in one click โ€” no manual data entry needed.

1

Click Import

In the Performance Tracker, click the Import button in the top toolbar.
2

Browse your tournaments

A list of all Tournament Manager events you participated in will appear โ€” already matched to your player profile. Each card shows the tournament name, venue, date, and number of completed matches available to import.
3

Click Import on the tournament you want

Hit the green Import button on the relevant card. There is no extra confirmation step โ€” the import runs immediately and you are taken to the newly created tracker tournament.
๐Ÿ’ก
For doubles events, your partner's name is imported automatically and shown on each match card.
โ„น๏ธ
Imported tournaments are marked with an Imported badge on the tracker list. Inside the tournament, the core match fields (round, date, score, opponent) are locked to preserve data integrity. You can still freely add all analysis notes โ€” strengths, weaknesses, improvements, and general notes.
๐Ÿ“ˆ

Reading Your Stats

Your tracker list gives you an at-a-glance performance summary for each tournament. Every card shows your win/loss record and all match results in order, with colour coding by result.

What you seeWhat it means
W / L countWins and losses at that tournament.
Match pillsEach match shown as a green (win) or red (loss) chip with round and score.
Singles / Doubles badgeDerived automatically from the tournament category.
Opponent rankInside a tournament, each match shows the opponent's AITA rank and points at the time of the match.
โ„น๏ธ
Tournaments are listed newest first. Open any tournament to see the full match-level detail including your analysis notes.
โฌ‡๏ธ

Downloading Your PDF Report

Generate a professional PDF summary of your performance โ€” useful for coaching reviews, scholarship applications, or personal records.

1

Download from the tracker list

In the main Performance Tracker page, click the PDF button in the top toolbar. This generates a report covering all your tournaments.
2

Or download a single tournament

Open any individual tournament and click the PDF button in the top-right of that page. This generates a focused report for that tournament only.
โ„น๏ธ
The PDF downloads immediately โ€” there is no preview or configuration step. It includes your name, AITA ID, all match results, opponent rankings, and your analysis notes. PDFs are not officially stamped by AITA.
๐Ÿ”

Opponent Evaluation

The Opponent Evaluation tool lets you scout any player in the Tennis.University database before โ€” or after โ€” you face them. Open it from your Player Dashboard under Opponent Evaluation, or directly at /dashboard/player/opponent-eval.

Searching for a Player

1

Type a name or AITA ID in the search box

Results are pulled from both the AITA rankings database and Tennis.University tournament registrations in real time (debounced as you type).
2

Select the player from the dropdown

Their full scouting card loads immediately below the search bar. The URL updates automatically โ€” you can bookmark or share the link.

What the Scouting Card Shows

CardWhat it shows
Overall StatsTotal matches, wins, losses, and win-rate bar across all TU tournaments. If you have your own Performance Tracker matches against them, a split label shows X TU matches ยท Y tracked matches.
AITA RankingsCurrent rank and points for every active category (BU14, GU16, etc.) this player competes in.
H2H RecordYour head-to-head record against this player โ€” wins, losses, and every past match with score and round. Requires your own AITA ID to be linked in your profile.
Recent FormLast 10 matches (TU + your Performance Tracker data interleaved chronologically) โ€” result, score, round, opponent AITA badge, and tournament name.
Score PatternsTiebreak record (won/total), straight set wins, comeback wins, bagels given and received, and breadsticks โ€” parsed from all available match scores.
Surface BreakdownWin % on clay, hard, grass, carpet, etc. โ€” drawn from both TU tournament courts and your own Performance Tracker data where surface is tagged.
Tournament LevelWin % broken down by tournament type (TS7, CS, SS, NS, Nationals) โ€” useful for seeing how a player performs under pressure at higher-level events.
Tournament DepthDeepest round reached in each tournament they entered (e.g. Finalist, Semifinalist) โ€” labelled relative to the tournament's maximum round.
Win Rate TrendA chart showing how their win percentage has evolved over time โ€” useful for spotting players on a hot streak or dropping form.
Ranking History ChartsFull ranking and points history per category โ€” line charts showing trajectory over the last season.

๐Ÿ“Š Your Performance Tracker data enriches scouting

If you have logged matches against this opponent in your Performance Tracker (TrackerMatch), those results are automatically merged into the scouting card. Surface breakdown, level breakdown, and recent form will reflect both TU tournament data and your own tracked matches โ€” giving you a more complete picture than TU data alone.

This is the only part of Opponent Evaluation that reads from your Performance Tracker. Your private analysis notes (strengths, weaknesses, improvements) are never used here.

Opening a scouting card from a tournament draw

On any public tournament draw page, player names in the bracket are clickable. Tapping a name opens a quick Opponent Mini Card โ€” a compact popup with rank, W/L stats, and recent form โ€” without leaving the draw view. A Scout โ†’ link at the bottom opens the full evaluation page.

๐Ÿ’ก
Bookmark the URL after selecting a player โ€” it contains their AITA ID and loads their scouting card directly. Useful for quick pre-match review on match day.
โ„น๏ธ
Opponent Evaluation requires you to be logged in as a player account. The H2H section additionally requires your AITA ID to be linked in your profile settings.
๐Ÿน

โ„น๏ธ
Rival Tracker requires your AITA ID to be linked in your profile. If it's not linked yet, the page will prompt you to add it before opponent history can be loaded.

Strategy Generator

The Strategy Generator is an interactive tactical planning tool. Map shot patterns and rally constructions on a visual tennis court, save your plans, and reload them before any match. Open it from your Player Dashboard under Strategy Generator, or directly at /dashboard/player/strategy.

FeatureWhat it does
Interactive CourtDraw shot trajectories and rally patterns directly on an overhead court diagram. Your name and your opponent's name appear on the court.
Save StrategiesName and save as many tactical plans as you like โ€” for different opponents, surfaces, or match scenarios.
Reload AnytimeReload any saved strategy at any time โ€” review before a match or share with your coach.
Export as PDFDownload any saved strategy as a branded PDF โ€” includes the court diagram, shot legend, player vs opponent header, notes, and a Tennis.University footer.

Exporting a Strategy as PDF

1

Build and save your strategy

Draw your shot patterns on the court, set your opponent's name, add notes if you like, then click Save. The โฌ‡ PDF button only activates after the strategy is saved with no unsaved changes.
2

Click โฌ‡ PDF in the header bar

The PDF is generated and downloads automatically. It includes the court diagram captured as an image, the strategy name, your name vs opponent, shot count, notes, and a full shot legend.
๐Ÿ’ก
If the โฌ‡ PDF button is greyed out, it means you have unsaved changes. Save the strategy first and the button will become active.
โ„น๏ธ
The Strategy Generator is a feature-gated tool. If it is not visible on your dashboard, it may have been disabled for your account โ€” contact your academy admin or Tennis.University support to enable it.
๐Ÿซ

Academy Performance

If your academy uses Tennis.University's internal ranking system, you can view your Academy Performance from your Player Dashboard. Open it under My Academy Performance, or directly at /dashboard/player/academy-performance.

What you seeWhat it means
Total Wins / LossesYour match record across all internal academy match days.
Total PointsPoints earned in the academy's ranking system โ€” scoring rules are set by the academy admin.
Win RatePercentage of matches won across all match days.
Recent MatchesLatest results โ€” opponent name, match type, format, score, and match day date.
Monthly Points ChartBar chart showing how your points have accumulated month by month over the season.
โ„น๏ธ
Academy Performance requires your AITA ID to be linked in your profile, and your academy must have the internal ranking feature enabled. If the tile is not visible on your dashboard, you are not currently enrolled in any academy's ranking system or the feature is disabled for your account.
๐Ÿ’ก
Academy Performance data is completely separate from your AITA tournament results and your Performance Tracker. Academy match days are internal โ€” they are not submitted to AITA and do not affect your national ranking.

FAQ

Can I delete a tournament?

Yes. Open the tournament from your tracker list, then click the red Delete button in the top-right corner. You will be asked to confirm. This removes the tournament and all its matches and cannot be undone.

How do I track doubles matches?

When creating a tournament, choose a doubles category: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, or Mixed Doubles. When logging each match, you can enter your partner's name and search for both opponents from the AITA rankings. Doubles matches are displayed separately from singles in your tracker.

Can I edit an imported match?

The core fields (round, date, score, opponent) are locked on imported matches to preserve accuracy. However, all analysis fields โ€” strengths, weaknesses, things to improve, opponent notes, and general notes โ€” are fully editable. Click on any match card to open the edit form.

My opponent does not appear in the AITA search. What do I do?

If the player is not in the current AITA rankings, type their name and select Add as unranked opponent. Their name will be saved without rank or points data.

What is Opponent Evaluation and who can use it?

Opponent Evaluation is a scouting tool available to all logged-in player accounts. You can look up any player in the Tennis.University database and see their W/L stats, AITA rankings, recent form, score patterns, surface and level breakdowns, win trend, and ranking history charts. It's at /dashboard/player/opponent-eval.

The H2H section says I need to link my AITA ID. How do I do that?

Go to Dashboard โ†’ Profile and enter your AITA ID in the profile settings. Once linked, the H2H record on the scouting card will show your complete head-to-head history against any player across all TU tournaments.

Does Opponent Evaluation use my private match notes?

No. Your private analysis notes โ€” strengths, weaknesses, things to improve, opponent notes, general notes โ€” are never read by the Opponent Evaluation tool. Only quantitative data is used: match results, scores, surfaces, and tournament types from your Performance Tracker.

What is the Rival Tracker?

The Rival Tracker at /dashboard/player/rivals shows every opponent you've faced in TU tournaments โ€” your full competitive history in a 3-column card grid. Each card shows W/L bar, win% badge, recent match dots, and a Scout link to their full evaluation. Filter by All / Won / Lost.

Can I see opponent scouting directly from a tournament draw?

Yes. On any public tournament draw page, player names in the bracket are clickable. Tapping a name opens an Opponent Mini Card popup โ€” a quick view of rank, W/L stats, and recent form without leaving the draw. Click Scout โ†’ in the popup to open the full evaluation page.

What is the Strategy Generator?

The Strategy Generator at /dashboard/player/strategy is an interactive tactical planning tool. Draw shot patterns on a visual court with your name and your opponent's name displayed on the diagram. Name and save your plans, reload them before any match, and export them as a branded PDF to share with your coach. It is available to all player accounts where the feature is enabled โ€” contact your academy admin if it does not appear on your dashboard.

How do I export a strategy as a PDF?

Save your strategy first (the โฌ‡ PDF button stays greyed out while there are unsaved changes). Once saved, click โฌ‡ PDF in the Strategy Generator header bar and the PDF downloads immediately. It includes the court diagram, strategy name, player vs opponent header, shot legend, notes, and shot count.

What is Academy Performance?

Academy Performance at /dashboard/player/academy-performance shows your record in your academy's internal match day ranking system โ€” wins, losses, points, win rate, recent results, and a monthly points chart. It requires your AITA ID to be linked in your profile and your academy to have the internal ranking feature enabled. This data is internal to the academy and is not submitted to AITA.
